Save the Date: “The World that Made Judah Touro”
April 26, 2026, 11 a.m.

401 Elmgrove Ave.
Providence, RI

Join us for a special program presented by Keith Stokes, Rhode Island’s Historian Laureate, exploring The World that Made Judah Touro.

In 2025, we celebrated the 250th anniversary of Judah Touro’s birth in Newport. In 2026, as we honor the 250th anniversary of America’s founding, we will remember the extraordinary contributions of early Jewish patriots through the lives of the Touro and Hays families in Colonial America.

The presentation will trace the family’s origins in Spain and Amsterdam, as well as the early Colonial American influences that propelled Judah Touro to become America’s first great philanthropist. It will include images of people, places and events spanning 500 years of history.

Light refreshments will be served.
